Program fee Information
The all inclusive program fee covers:
All meals and housing during the workshop.
Tuition associated with teaching artist training component
Internal transport
Cultural excursions during days off
24/7 on the ground MusAid staff support
MusAid actively tries to keep program fees as low as possible but still needs to maintain a sustainable organization to continue supporting music programs around the world. The cost per participant to run the MusAid teaching lab program is over double the asking program fee. As musicians ourselves, we understand that funding your MusAid trip can seem like a challenge. Instead of shouldering the expenses yourself, why not think creatively to fundraise, spread awareness, and allow your community to support your passion! We have found that there is an overwhelming interest in supporting volunteer music education work overseas, the key is knowing who, how and where to ask. Here are a few ideas to help get the wheels turning!
1) Host a fundraising event. This can take many forms, but perhaps the most effective format is the house concert fundraiser with a suggested donation and a presentation about MusAid. We will happily provide media for your presentation, including videos and photos!
2) Write personal emails to 20+ close friends and family. Let people know what you're doing and why it matters to you. If you don't ask for support, you'll never know! People like to be asked, and given the chance, will be thrilled to play a role in supporting your experience.
3) Try launching a Kickstarter, Gofundme campaign. It's the easiest way to share your project with a wide audience and conviently collect online donations.
Based on previous experiences, if you try at least two of the above-mentioned fundraising ideas, you will more than likely have raised the funds necessary to partially, or even completely, cover your expenses.
